FAQs

Below you may find answers to common questions, if you do have a question that is not answered below please don't hesitate to contact us!

Does acupuncture hurt?

We customize your acupuncture treatments to bring the quickest results possible with a minimum of discomfort. When an acupuncture point is stimulated, the result is called, "the arrival of Qi.” Initially there may be a slight sensation, but there should not be pain. Individual attention and care is our utmost priority.

Are the needles re-used?

At Balancing Point Acupuncture we use only the finest grade materials. All our needles are sterile, disposable, single use.

How long is a visit?

The first visit is typically One and a half hours in length, depending on your needs and the condition being treated. Subsequent visits are usually an hour, but may be as short as 30 minutes, depending on your condition. To learn more about appointments and appointment times click here.

What if I miss an appointment or need to reschedule?

At Balancing Point Acupuncture, we value each client and give the utmost in personalized care, which requires the complete scheduled appointment time. Therefore, arriving late for a scheduled appointment may require rescheduling of the appointment, which may carry a fee.  No shows, and missed appointment fees will be applied when less than 24 hours notice is given for a scheduled appointment.  Always call the office for scheduling issues.

Do you take insurance?

Always check with your insurance company to see if they cover acupuncture. If they do, we will gladly provide the paperwork for you to file with your insurance for reimbursement. Balancing Point Acupuncture is a fee for service clinic.

How many treatments will it take?

Acute problems are resolved most quickly and may even be relieved on the first visit. Subsequent visits are made to strengthen the effect and improve long-term results. The more chronic the illness, the longer it may take to resolve, perhaps several weeks or months. It is important to note that the longer the problem has been established, the longer it may take for the body to come back to balance. I will explain the nature of your condition and a plan for treatment, so that you will always feel informed. Our goal is to aid your body’s natural ability to heal itself.

What are your hours?

Appointment times vary from 9:00am - 6:00pm, on weekdays. Saturday appointments are available and can vary. All office hours are by appointment only, please schedule online or call us at (480) 204-5395 to schedule your appointment.
